thereNow was founded in 2005 by Dr. Thomas Shuster, Dr. R. Shawn Edmondson, Clint Eliason, and Seth Johnson.

The mission of thereNow is make teaching a clinical practice profession through the research, development, and implementation of innovative teacher training methods and technologies. Dr. Thomas Shuster

Ph.D. in Psychology, Research and Evaluation Methodology emphasis, from the Psychology Department at Utah State University. Created Spectrum Consulting, a highly regarded research and evaluation firm specializing in education-based projects that currently handles the evaluation of over 100 million dollars in funded projects for clients across the United States and in Puerto Rico.

Dr.Shuster also has worked in public education for 20 years, serving in a variety of capacities including teaching, curriculum specialist, administration, and research and development.


Dr. Edmondson

Dr. R. Shawn Edmondson

Ph.D. in Research and Evaluation Methodology from the Psychology Department at Utah State University. Has served as an instructor at Utah State University for a variety of on-campus and distance education psychology and research methodology courses. Has served as project manager and evaluator on numerous research and evaluation projects in education and psychology for Spectrum Consulting. Dr. Edmondson’s dissertation research explored the use of a telepresence-enabled, cognitive apprenticeship model of teacher professional development. This research led to the formation of thereNow, Inc., which provides innovative professional development services to state, regional, and local educational agencies.

Ph.D. in Psychology, Research and Evaluation Methodology program at Utah State University. Currently coordinates Spectrum Consulting’s and thereNow's Federal affairs and special appropriations efforts. Serves as lead evaluator on several education projects in Utah and Georgia.

From 1996 to 2002, directed a consortium of informal education programs through Utah State University Extension.


 

Seth Johnson, M.S.

Seth Johnson brings a bachelor’s degree in technical writing and a master’s degree in instructional technology to his work in the Spectrum Consulting and thereNow Grant Lab (SGL).

His peripheral interests in technology, history, cognitive psychology, political science, and a variety of other topics contribute to his love of grantsmanship as a discipline: it demands that he learn a bit about everything.
